Providing handheld program loading, controller, monitoring, and diagnostic and status information, the Cscape PDA is an innovative, easy-to-use software that makes installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Horner's control systems more manageable for a lower cost.

Regulate and Manage OCS

Cscape PDA furnishes OEMs and service technicians with a handheld program loader based on standard consumer electronic hardware.  With its graphical user interface, the software offers easier solutions than most portable programming devices.  And since this software uses inexpensive, readily available handheld computers, it's an effective tool to regulate and manage Horner's Operator Control Station (OCS) and Remote Control Station (RCS) products.  Cscape's software features include:

  • The handheld loader - supports multiple programs and allows file-naming, while a single button loader permits operators with minimal training to update the programs in one or more controllers.  Several devices based on the Palm OS handhelds supports removable media for storing application programs.
  • Data watch - allows any registers to be viewed (in 10 available formats) or modified.  Lists of registers can also be saved for later use.
  • Remote text terminal - allows users to view the controller display in real-time and press simulated buttons on any controller on the network.   RCS units lacking displays and keypads still benefit by interacting with a clear virtual display and keypad.
  • Support for CsCAN networking - offers users the option to plug in and have universal access to any controller spanning the network when those controllers are connected using CsCAN networking technology.
  • Security - gives users a reliable safety provision since security settings in Cscape for the PC are enforced in the PDA version.  Users can enter passwords to access protected operations (such as upload, download, verify, and controller mode).
  • Mobility - in some instances, the Cscape's formidable power is enough to eliminate or reduce the need to carry a laptop altogether.

Horner APG's Cscape PDA software also grants customers a broader hardware selection due to its across the industry compatibility.  This solution doesn't depend on a proprietary hardware platform - it's interchangeable with a standard hardware architecture currently being developed by a dozen various manufacturers.   Consequently, users reserve the option to choose specialized features custom-tailored to their application including size, performance, durability, and removable media, making the Cscape PDA a cost-effective solution in every phase of the process.

Cscape PDA Software is available bundled with an OCS communications cable.  Cables for the Handspring Visor series Palm™ V handheld series are available.  Cscape PDA software is also available preloaded in a Handspring Visor Deluxe.
