| Horner Electric introduces the first implementation of Ethernet on the OCS product family. The Ethernet SmartStack Module is designed for use with Operator Control Station (OCS) products in an Ethernet network. Our module provides end-users with a low-end controller that can seamlessly integrate with their existing information infrastructure, larger band-width and a window into their factory floor processes. | |||
| Ethernet Global Data is an effective way to conserve network bandwidth as it uses Multicast to broadcast packets of Global data to multiple network nodes. One packet transmission can be received by many nodes eliminating the need to transmit the same data to each node (Unicast) as required by other Ethernet protocols. Inexpensive standard 10Base T wiring and hubs are used. Other protocols optimized for point to point communications such as STRP and Modbus are forthcoming. |

| The Ethernet SmartStack is ideal for those customers who have standardized on Ethernet as their factory network of the future. It also works just as well for those non-traditional customers where their Informtaion Systems Department drives the Automation plant. | |||
| The ETN100 has two modes of configuration; Ethernet Global Data (EGD) and ICMP (ping). One or both modes can be selected at the same time. The EGD exchanges are designed for simple, effcient communication of sampled data between devices. |
