Cscape 6.7 Offers More Programming Options
Supporting all elements of control, I/O, graphics, and networking for OCS (Operator Control Stations), Cscape 6.7 now offers these enhancements:

  • LX Serial Protocols (downloadable Protocol Drivers): allows OCS models LX280 and LX300 touchscreens to support communications drivers that are configurable in an intuitive, data mapping approach. Each LX port (port 1 & 2), has the capability to communicate via a downloadable, proprietary protocol. In addition, Cscape 6.7 supports these PLC protocols:

    • RTU/Modbus
    • GE Fanuc SNP
    • Allen-Bradley DF1, and
    • Horner CsCAN Serial Protocol.

  • SmartStix Network I/O Configuration for All OCS Models: fast and intuitive to use, the SmartStix Network I/O configuration tool is now available for all OCS models with a CsCAN port.

  • RTU/Modbus Store & Forward Capability for All OCS Models: OCS products support the store and forward capability in its RTU/Modbus function blocks. It's an important feature in radio applications where a centralized host needs to talk with remote locations.

Horner APG is looking forward to participating in the upcoming Power-Gen International 2004 tradeshow. Show dates run November 30th through December 2nd in Orlando, Florida…at the Orange County Convention Center. If you'd like a free pass to the show, email Helen.Husain@heapg.com (please include your name, address, ph #). We'd love to show you our latest OCS-based monitoring, wireless, and control solutions for the power industry…and answer any product questions you might have. See you there!

One of Horner APG's most popular products is the Series
90-30 programming adapter HE693SNPCBL—with over 40,000 units sold!

Series 90-30 programming adapter is also one of our longest running products—at 13 years and still going! A few years ago, this product was redesigned to a one-piece molded unit…that has been very well received. We're occasionally asked if the original, two-piece version is still available. The answer is: Yes (but only if you order the adapter and cable components separately). Part numbers and pricing for all the options are shown below:

Part Number List Price Description
HE693SNPCBL $130 SNP Programming Adapter/Cable - one piece molded unit, 6 ft.
HE693SNP232 $100 SNP/RS-232 Adapter only.
HE693CBLSNP $30 RS-232 cable, 6 ft., 9-pin female to 9-pin female, 6ft.

Need a longer programming cable? Combine the new 6 ft. HE693SNPCBL cable with our 6 ft. HE693CBL222 cable ($25 list).

OCS I/O Quick Tip:
OCS Offers 2 Types of I/O and Several I/O Configurations to Minimize Cost

I/O Types:

  1. SmartStack I/O modules stack on the back of many OCS models, all RCS models or a remote base.
  2. SmartStix terminal-style I/O modules are DIN-rail mounted and connect to any OCS CsCAN network port.

I/O Configurations:

  1. SmartStacks are stacked onto the back of an OCS to create local, integrated I/O.
  2. SmartStacks are stacked onto bases connected by fiber optic cable to an OCS (except miniOCS/miniSX) to create local I/O or remote I/O for a limited distance.
  3. SmartStix Din-rail mounted and/or SmartStacks stacked on CsCAN network bases are connected to an OCS to create local or distributed I/O.
  4. SmartStix are connected over the CsCAN network to an OCS to create local or distributed I/O.

Cost:

  1. Depending on the quantity and type of I/O needed, SmartStix and Combination SmartStacks with inputs, outputs and analog may offer the most inexpensive OCS I/O.
