Previously announced,
the HELX300C100 Color Touchscreen OCS units were due to ship
in August. However, we are pleased to let you know we are
ahead of schedule and are shipping them now!
Fast,
compact, and up to 16 colors…the LX300 is our lowest
priced color graphics OCS- just $995 (USD). This model provides
greater visual readability than competing low-cost STN color
LCDs. Only 7" W x 5.5" H x 2" D, the LX300
is small enough for tight panel areas. Plus, the LX300 (as
well as the monochrome LX280 units) connect I/O using the
high-speed CsCAN Network.

Ways
to Connect LX Series to an Ethernet Network
Several options
exist to connect the LX Series Touchscreen OCS to an Ethernet
network. The LX OCS has both a serial port and a CsCAN port
that may be used to pass data to and from an interface device.
Ways to connect to an Ethernet network include:
- Adding
an ETN200 SmartStack module on an RCS116 CsCAN Network Base
or RCS250 Coprocessor Unit, connected over the CsCAN network
- Using
the Ethernet network port of an OCS sharing the CsCAN network
with the LX
- Using
a serial-to-Ethernet gateway connected through the LX serial
port.
The selection
of which option to use will normally be dictated by system
considerations such as port availability and economics. If
an RCS116 base or RCS250 coprocessor is already connected
to the CsCAN network, it is easy to just snap on an ETN200
SmartStack module. Or, you could connect an inexpensive serial-to-Ethernet
gateway to a serial port of the LX.

CD with IEC-61131 Languages Is Now Available
You can now order a CD
that contains all OCS programming software, including the
new IEC-61131 programming languages. IEC languages may be
important to companies doing business overseas, especially
in Europe…and they can be used to program any OCS product
except miniOCS, OCS100, and OCS200.

Symbols Graphical Library and all five IEC-61131 languages. Price
