Q. My Profibus card is swapping data, how do I fix that? A. A Firmware change.
Q. I can’t get the card to communicate, what should I do? A. You have to make sure the Profibus cable you have is wired correctly, with the correct terminating resistors installed on the ends. You must use a high quality, shielded twisted pair’s cable that is recommended for use with Profibus.
Q. What do I use to configure the Profibus Master/Slave? A. First, our PBM100 and PBS105 require that you have at least a CPU351 or higher on the PLC rack. Then you must use CIMplicity configuration software to configure the modules.
Q. In the master configuration in CIMplicity, I found a field labeled ‘Diag Len’ with a value of 244 in all the fields. What’s this for and how do I change it? A. This is a fixed value and there is no reason to change it. In fact, it cannot be changed. |
