| The Stepper Positioning Modules (STP's) are programmable
motion control option modules for the Series 90-30. Within a stepper motor control
system, the STP acts as a programmable indexer which is capable of interfacing to a wide
variety of stepper motor translator drives, limit switches and encoder feedback
devices. A high maximum step rate and wide dynamic range position control make these
modules compatible with microstepping translator drives, for smooth quiet operation.
One and three axis (multiplexed) models are available with up to 245,730 steps (or
microsteps) per second. A new model, the STP113, adds a feature to the stepper indexer product, called "indexed moves". The purpose of the indexed move is to provide the ability to synchronize the motor movement with a specific mechanical reference point. This reference point or index is provided to the module via the index input. The index input will only be processed if it occurs during a user-specified window. When the index input is accepted, the system then moves to an alternate user-specified destination point using an alternate deceleration time. Indexed moves are always relative moves. |
